Mark has over 15 years of experience in the finance industry as a Mortgage Broker, Chartered Accountant, Certified Financial Planner, Business and Private Banker for a Big 4 Bank and as a director for a large Not for Profit organisation.

Prior to establishing Empirical Finance, Mark assisted his clients in obtaining debt and capital from domestic and overseas markets. He project managed the capital raising for some of South Australia’s largest projects including a deep-water grain port,  as well as large residential and commercial development projects around Australia and a global education institute. Prior to this role, Mark worked as a Commercial and Private Banker at ANZ for several years as well as an Accountant for Deloitte, where he began his career as a Chartered Accountant. His roles included auditing, tax and corporate finance for entities with turnovers in excess $100 million p.a.

Mark was a Senior Relationship Manager for seven years at a publicly listed trustee and fund manager company, Perpetual. He obtained and managed over $100 million of investments for his South Australian clients and provided trustee and power of attorney services for those who had lost mental capacity.

Mark has worked closely with Indigenous Aboriginal communities as a Financial Advisor and trustee of their funds. For eight years, he was a board member for Skylight, a mental health Not for Profit organisation. Mark has also volunteered his time for over six years as a Business Career Mentor for final year students at the University of South Australia.  Along with his wider team, Mark helps determine the feasibility of projects and assists in debt and capital raising. He works closely with his clients to know their goals and objectives prior to providing any recommendations and services. Mark prides himself on providing a holistic, trusted and a tested service. He is a current member of the Australian Financial Complaints Authority, Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, and the Financial Planning Association of Australia.
